Understanding Our Pricing: Venue, Décor & Kitchen Are Separate Services

When planning an event, one of the most common misunderstandings we encounter is the assumption that everything – venue, décor, and catering – is included in one single price. At Fayview Gardens, we operate differently. We believe in clarity, fairness, and flexibility, so each component of your event is itemized and customizable. This ensures you pay only for what you need and that every service is delivered with the attention it deserves.

1. The Venue Hire

Your event starts with the venue hire. This is the foundation – access to our beautiful Fayview Gardens facility, whether it’s the Conservatory or the Main Hall. The venue hire alone gives you the right to use the space for your function, along with its basic amenities such as standard lighting, parking, and restrooms.

For those choosing our Super Package (R250 per person), the focus is purely on hiring the hall. You receive the venue and speaker sound system, and from there, you can bring in your own décor, catering, and furniture if you prefer. This option is ideal for clients who already have their own service providers or wish to handle certain elements themselves.

2. Venue Services – Décor, Cutlery, and Furniture

The next layer is the service and setup within the venue. These are the items and staff that make the space come alive — décor, furniture, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and the coordination that ties everything together.

Our Exclusive, Premium, and Luxury packages include these items at varying levels. For example, the Exclusive package provides hall décor, table décor, centerpieces, furniture, and waiters — essentially a complete turnkey setup. Clients can also upgrade to a Premium Range of crockery and glassware for R100 per person if they want finer details such as wine glasses or enhanced table settings.

This separation is crucial because décor and equipment require their own teams, maintenance, and logistics — all independent of the hall itself. It allows you to choose a level of service and presentation that fits both your budget and your vision.

3. Kitchen & Catering Services

Finally, the kitchen service is an entirely separate component. Whether you are using our in-house catering or bringing your own, the kitchen remains a full operation on its own, with staff, cleaning, equipment, and consumables.

If you bring your own food, a self-catering service fee applies. This is not an extra charge “for nothing” — it covers the use of the kitchen, electricity, water, cleaning, and the staff who ensure your food is served professionally. Remember, food doesn’t serve itself. Someone must manage the bain-maries, warming trays, servers, and dishwashing before and after the event.

Clients who prefer to manage everything independently may opt out of this service entirely — in that case, the kitchen is simply locked and not part of your hire.

In Summary

At Fayview Gardens, we’ve designed our pricing to give you choice, control, and clarity.

  • Venue hire gives you the space.
  • Décor and service packages give you the setup and experience.
  • Kitchen and catering provide the food service and professional execution.

Each has its own cost because each is its own operation. When understood this way, it’s easy to see that separating them isn’t an extra — it’s the only fair, transparent way to price your event.
